Description PiCoolFAN4 is an Advanced Active Cooling System specifically designed for the Raspberry Pi® 4, but can also be used with previous Raspberry Pi models. PiCoolFAN4 provides enhanced cooling capability with built-in FAN and external temperature sensor. The used temperature sensor is placed exactly 3.5 mm above the Raspberry Pi 4 CPU, this guarantees an accurate and continuous measurement of the system temperature. PiCoolFAN4 does not need any software installation and the hardware requires an extremely simple FAN installation process, so it is very useful for any application. However, if users need a very precise way to control the temperature and more advanced features, they can use the Daemon, which reads the exact temperature of the Raspberry Pi CPU and writes it to the PiCoolFAN4 via I2C. The FAN driver is PWM controlled and allows the user to adjust the fan speed depending on the temperature, dramatically reducing potential noise production to an absolute minimum. Due to the special PCB construction - thanks to the Air Circulation Technology - the injected air bounces off the CPU and, absorbing its heat, escapes through the special openings above. This design guarantees proper air circulation and maximizes the cooling process, even at low FAN speeds (very low noise production). For the visual user interface, the PiCoolFAN4 is equipped with 3 LEDs (blue, green and red), informing the user of the current status of the FAN and system temperature. The PiCoolFAN4 can be used as it is mounted on top of the Raspberry Pi, however the user can use the expansion header and the PiCoolFAN4 can be used with other HATs. PiCoolFAN4 is not only an Advanced Active Cooling System, it is much more. PiCoolFAN4 is additionally equipped with Hardware Battery Backed RTC DS1307, 2 LED drivers, IR receiver, Sounder that can play music, interconnected 1-wire interface (5V and 3V) ESD, as well as Relay.
